Elburn & Countryside F.P.D. Launches Campaign to acquire Rescue Equipment

Tools which will enable firefighters to save more lives and property

Racing against time, Elburn & Countryside F.P.D. Firefighters have searched burning buildings on their hands and knees – feeling their way through blinding smoke to find unconscious victims. New technology enables us to see through smoke, cutting search time by more than 75%.  Thermal imaging cameras have helped firefighters find unconscious victims in smoke-filled rooms, pinpoint the sources of fires, and detect structural dangers before they cause injuries and deaths.

The Elburn & Countryside F.P.D. has launched community-wide fundraisers in the past to purchase thermal imagers, extrication jacks, reciprocating saws, multi-gas detectors and many other life saving items.

This fundraiser initiative is for the continued acquisition and replacement of life saving tools through your donations. For every $6.00 of your donation we will issue a "Support your Firefighters" magnetic ribbon.

We accept personal checks and money orders. Money orders can be obtained at your local post office, convenience stores or currency exchanges.

Please print the donation form, fill out the information and send the form along with your check or money order. We do require a 10 day clearance period for personal checks. The ribbons are mailed to you via United States Postal Service and the postage is included in your donation.

Please help your Fire Department to accomplish its objective.

Unfortunately, it took the incomprehensible events of September 11 for the public to fully realize the risk and bravery undertaken by firefighters, police officers and other rescuers.
