Free Blood Pressure Tests
The Elburn
& Countryside Fire Protection District provides free routine blood
pressure checks to the public at both fire stations
Monday through Saturday
between the hours of 7 am to 4 pm. The times
listed above should serve as a guide for routine blood pressure checks.
However, they should not prohibit any person from going to a fire
station and requesting a blood pressure check during other hours. As
always, anyone suffering a medical emergency should access 911
regardless of the time.
High Blood
Pressure (hypertension) is often called "the silent killer", because
symptoms are often not apparent. Take advantage of this free service,
and stay healthy!

Win an AED
DURACELL launched a nationwide initiative to
raise awareness about the need for defibrillators in schools. Through a
partnership with ZOLL MEDICAL CORPORATION, Duracell will show parents and
educators the importance of having these critical lifesaving devices in
schools across the country. Parents, teachers, students and school
administrators are encouraged to visit the Web site below to register their
school for a chance to win a ZOLL AED Plus™ automated external defibrillator
and enough batteries to power the system for years to come. A total of 51
lifesaving packages will be given away; one to each state and the District
of Columbia. Entries will be accepted between now and January 31, 2005. For
more information, log on to

demonstrate various pieces of equipment, and open the apparatus for
viewing.
Residents
should contact the Fire Department at (630) 262-9911 and ask for David
Oliver. You can also reach David via e-mail at
Oliver_D@ECFPD.com. Please allow
for a 3-day response time due to the shift schedule.
