The Elburn & Countryside Fire Protection District in connection with the College of DuPage will begin the 2006/2007 process of establishing a list for hiring Firefighter/Paramedics.

1.)     Individuals must be Firefighter II/Paramedics at the time of hire.

2.)     Candidates must be a member of, or test into the Southern Fox Valley Emergency Medical Services System at the time of hire.  Failure to become certified within the system will result in the candidate not completing their probationary period.

3.)     Individuals must be 21 years of age at the time that the candidate is placed on the eligibility list.  However applicants at least 18 years of age with successful completion of 2 years of study in fire techniques totaling 4 high school credits may be considered eligible to participate.

4.)     Individuals must be under the age of 35 at the time of the application and test procedure.

2.)                      Top Salary achieved in five years at $55,751.20

3.)                      Health / Dental Insurance paid at 70/30% split (30% employee contribution)

5.)                      One Year Probationary Period

6.)                      Twenty Mile Radius Residency Requirement

7.)                      24/48 hour shift

8.)                      12 Hours of sick time accumulated every month accumulated up to 60 shift days

9.)                      10 Holidays Annually

11.)                    G7 Time available for Department Approved Tasks

October 23rd, 24th, 25th 2006		Physical Agility test one of the assigned dates at the Carol Stream Fire Department of site to be announced later
