     The Elburn & Countryside Fire Protection District is taking applications to establish an eligibility list for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic. Applications can be obtained in person at Elburn Fire Station One, 210 E. North St., beginning April 7th, 2010 through May 5th, 2010 during the hours of 8 am to 4 pm, Monday thru Friday only.


There is a $25.00 fee for picking up an application which must be paid by cash, money order, or cashier check. Applications must be returned to the Fire Station no later than May 5th, 2010 at 4 pm.


A mandatory orientation will be held on May 19th, 2010 beginning at 7:00 pm at the Fire Station. No one will be admitted after that time. The written exam will be on May 22nd, 2010 at 8:00 am. As well, no one will be admitted to the written exam after the posted start time.

Position Requirements:
1.) Between the age of 21 and less than 35 at the time of application
2.) A valid Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) Card at the time of hire
3.) High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
4.) Illinois Drivers License
5.) Firefighter II / Paramedic at time of application
6.) Starting Salary $47,210.41
7.) Medical & Dental Benefits
